stubborn VXL markers

 Hi All,

Anyone know a fix for this?  I have Object Markers both Vis and Sel turned off.  I'm in VXL and I have markers show up all over the place.  I'd love to not see these.  Older versions of Cadence honored the LSW settings but apparently not now.

You may ask, why don't I want to know about VXL violations?  Because I'm putting in dummy devices and will update the schematic afterwards.

If there's some environment setting to just turn the darn things off permanently I would be thrilled.

 thanks in advance

    Hi linbo

I am still not too clear on what the markers are. Would you be able to turn them off in "Constraints" or "Misc" tab of the annotation browers? Do you mean that you have turned off "Markers" as shown below?

    Best regards
    Quek

    Hi linbo

    How about using "Verify->Markers->Delete All"?

     Hi Quek,

There is no "Guides" view from the Window->Assistants menu.  I'm assuming that lives in a later release of Cadence.  I am on 6.1.4-64b.500.11.  The Markers are Objects.  In prior releases of Cadence I would turn them off thru the LSW->Object->Markers->Vis and Sel control.

I do this now and the Markers do not heed the LSW like they used to and merrily flag all sorts of stuff that I would like to be able to actually SEE but cannot due to the markers.

You're correct in that Verify->Markers->Delete All will remove them; the problem is that if I touch anything in the layout they simply re-appear.

I suppose I could recode most commands thru the bindKeys to Delete All preceding each command but that seems extreme, no?

I was hoping for some obscure environment setting that I didn't know about.

    Hi linbo

You can get "Guides" assistant by enabling the following shell variable before starting Virtuoso:

    terminal>setenv CDS_USE_PALETTE
    terminal>virtuoso &

    Best regards
