Exporting correctly scaled GDS file in IC6

Hello,

We have recently migrated to IC6. I am having trouble exporting correctly scaled GDS files. We are using a very basic technology where the lambda is .35um and all layout is done using lambda units.

When I export a GDS file the layer mapping is correct but the scaling is 1um=1 lambda (grid unit). In IC5 there was an option to change the scaling using DBU/UU, this option is no longer available. How can I specify the correct scaling for the GDS stream out?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Timir,

No this is the correct place.  Sorry, I did not see your question until just now.  If you are using IC615 you will see that there is again a DBUperUU field, from the Show Options button on the XStream Out form you will reveal different tabs, on the Geometry tab there is an option "DB Units per User Units" - the default value shows '0' which uses the value from the GDSII file, but here you can specify your own value.  I cannot remember if this feature was introduced at the start of IC615 or if it cam in one of the ISRs, but for sure it has been there for the last few ISRs (ISR11 is the current version of IC615).

There is also a scale utility from the command line, called "XScale", this might also offer an alternative approach?

Hopefully this is what you are looking for?

    Regards,

    Lawrence.

We have IC6.1.4, and it does not have the scaling option in the geometry tab of the stream out options form. Great to hear that it makes a return in 6.1.5. I will look into getting our system updated.

    XScale works well though.

Thank you very much I really appreciate it.
