Extracted-View simulation fails with 6.1.5 but not with 6.1.4

Hi all,

I'm currently during final phase of pre-tapeout characterisiation of small VCO, which I designed

with 6.1.5.72b using the S35 technology of AMS. Up to now everything went quite smooth, including

QRC-Extraction. Last week I added a output driver with some different resistors (rpoly2) from the PDK

and  now I can't get my simulations to work with 6.1.5, the spectre version seems to have no influence.

First of I all I get model subcircuits within my av_extracted netlist which I did not specifiy in the Netlist-Section

of QRC-Setup. This model definition includes two definitions that cause the simulation to fail in 6.1.5 but work fine

with 6.1.4. The model entry:

subckt rpolyhc PLUS MINUS REF

parameters _par0=10u l=10u mult=....

R1 (PLUS net9) rpolyh w=_par0 l=....

...

CS0 (PLUS REF) capacitor c=..

...

CM (net9 REF) capacitor c=(...tanh(l/2"w"))r("w)))*cap) m=mult

ends rpolyhc

The simulator seems to stop during netlist parsing, and bails out with two errors at the CM line.

ERROR (SFE-874): "input.scs" 25: Unexpected quoted string ""w". Expected close parenthesis or comma

ERROR  (SFE-709): "input.scs" 25: No master specified for instance `cap'.

Is there any fast and simple way to get 6.1.5 to accept this netlist, like 6.1.4 does ? Main Reason is, that 6.1.4

does not support a lot of my measurements, also the waveform viewer of 6.1.5 is way better (still not perfect)

compared to 6.1.4. Another important point is that our QRC (10.13) version seems to dislike 6.1.4, so I have to

permanently switch between the versions if I change anything ...

Best Regards

Andi

You should contact customer support - it's not a matter of the simulator accepting this netlist - the netlist is wrong (which might be a PDK issue) - but we'll need to see the data - virtually impossible to debug with edited versions of the netlist.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
