DRD issues

hey

I am trying to use DRD to enhance my layouting capabilities. however, i came across certain issues that if rectified could make DRD a useful tool in layout.

here are the issues.

      1.   DRD cannot identify dimensional errors between combined layers:

For example:

CA.S.TS.3

CA minimum space to (TS touching EG). > 0.029

However, DRD refers to

CA.S.TS.1CA minimum space to TS. > 0.024When flagging the error.

2.      DRD cannot identify dimensional errors between expanded layers.

GRCA.S.5(The ends of Union (CA, CACFILLOPC) P_edge sized by +0.020Mm) minimum space. > 0.074However, DRD refers toCA.S.1Union (CA, CACFILLOPC) minimum space > 0.051When flagging the error.             3.      It can’t verify inner vertices NW.S.5RX n+ junction minimum space to NW with at least one edge ateach NW inner vertex.> 0.112Instead it flags NW.S.4 - RX n+ junction minimum space to NW > 0.035

    Hi Adhil

Starting from IC615-500-10, we have a new IPVS (Integrated Physical Verification System) engine for DRD. This new engine uses our verification tool PVS to check the layout in real time using your sign-off drc rule deck. Please refer to $CDSHOME/doc/vipvs/vipvs.pdf for more details.

    Best regards
