Generating LEF from layout view

 Hi all!

I have been trying to export LEF from standard cells layout in order to use that LEF file in Encounter for automatic PnR. From virtuoso I select File -> Export -> LEF and fill the form appropriately but the lefout.log is giving a warning on metal 4 as shown below:

Warning (OALEFDEF-50144): NONDEFAULTRULE: VirtuosoDefaultExtractorSetup: Layer A4: invalid definition. This rule will be ignored. Ensure all layers in the valid routing layers constraints have a minWidth constraint defined and are metal or poly routing material.

When I opened the lef file, it is missing REC and OBS statements etc and only gives 3 lines on origin,  foreign and size of the macro, e.g. OR gate. I am sure the lef is not being generated properly. Please guide me what am I missing here.

Thanks for reading.

    Hi BraveHeart

It would be better if you use the abstract generator to first generate abstract views from your standard cell layout views and then export lef from the abstract views. There is a step-by-step tutorial in $CDSHOME/doc/abstract/abstract.pdf. Perhaps you can try it first.
