Insufficient virtual memory

When I tried to plot large data files, I got the following error:

(\"Insufficient virtual memory\" 0 t nil (\"*Error* Insufficient virtual memory: Malloc failed\" nil))

I am using IC6.1.5.500

Is there any chance that I can go throught this? Or any way that I can increase virtual memory?

Appreciate your help!

    Hi Wenxu

Would you please try 64bits Virtuoso?

    terminal>setenv CDS_AUTO_64BIT ALL
    terminal>virtuoso &

Please also provide the full sub-version:
    terminal>virtuoso -W

    Thanks
    Quek

     Hi Quek,

    Thanks for your reply!

    the full version is: IC6.1.5.500.9

I am running cadence2012 on a redhat 5.8(Tikanga) system, with

    terminal > virtuoso &

Since it is running simulation now, so I am not able to try the 64bits version.

I am not sure if the 64bits version is accordingly with the redhat system/version or with cadence release?

    Thank you!

    Hi Wenxu

Unless your system has missing 64bits packages, 64bits Virtuoso should also run fine on your machine. If your machine only has 4Gb of memory, then using 64bits will not solve the problem.

    Best regards
    Quek

    Hi Quek,

I will definitely try 64bits version, hopefully my 12Gb memory can handle this.

    Thank you!
