Some gui functionality not working on virtuoso 6.1.0

Some gui functionality on my cadence virtuoso session is not functioning. For wxample select zoom using a right button rectangle gives an error:

*Error* eval: undefined function - window

*Error* load: error while loading file - "*loadstring*"

However, I am able to use "zoom to selected" functionality from the toolbar.

Similarly "Edit Objects Properties" does not function, whether 'q' shortcut or menu or toolbar button are used. The error message is:

*WARNING* Unexpected argument combination for getEcStart

There may be other non-functional gui functionality too. All this was fine a day before. Previous evening, I had conected to a virtuoso session using my mac osx 10.6.8 from cable modem home internet.

My workstation is an Ubuntu Linux 12.04 32 bit, and cadence is installed on a RedHat Linux5.7 server.

Any insights on this problem will be appreciated.

Thanks for the note Quek. There had not been a problem for months, so it's a puzzle.
