Schematic slows down while reading unnecessary logs

Hello,

Sometimes when I open ADE GXL files within some cell,  i notice about 15-20 second freezing, after that cell opens normally. Then when I look at CIW, I see:

WARNING (ADEXL-1924): Could not get the status of ICRP process owning the log file /media/cadence/logs_user1/Job0.log.
Reason : Connection timed out.
Trying the next index for the log file.

I am not sure why does this happens from time to time? Can I disable it and make it not try to read that Log file? because it really slows me down.

And sometimes this kind of freezing occurs when I click or do something else during work within ADE GXL cell.

Maybe there's a cdslck file on the Job log file that it's trying to re-use?  (These days that's in logs_userName/logs0/JobN.log.cdslck). If the machine that had the lock can't be reached, or is no longer running clsbd, it will probably time out.

You can probably delete all your old log files (the whole "logs_userName" dir) if you're not currently running ADE XL anywhere.

    Andrew.

Ok, thanks Andrew, deleting absolutely all log files from that folder helped.

(setting CDS_LOG_VERSION to pid or sequential did not help at all)

Also, one more question, since this topic is touched:

I have the following in my .cshrc file:

    setenv DD_DONT_DO_OS_LOCKS

However, I see that it still leaves lock files inside cell folders after I am done working with them and close them, why?

See also this other thread where I explain locking.
