model name for normal diode in virtuoso shematic editor

I am using a normal pn diode in circuit. When simulated using ADE L package, an error stating " instance of diode requires a model name first" is shown. What is the model name to be given and where it should be specified? I am not using spectre or Hspice. It is normal diode taken from analogLib.

    Hi madhusudha

There does not seem to be a sample diode model file in IC61x installation so I think perhaps you can use "nmos4" or "pmos4" device from analogLib, join the gate and drain to form a diode and use the mos model file from:

    $CDSHOME/tools/dfII/samples/artist/models/spectre/basicMos.scs

You can also create your own diode model file as follows:

    a. Open an empty text file and enter the following:

    model myDiode diode is=1.8e-5 rs=1.43 n=1.22

    b. Save the file and add it as one of the model files in ADE

    c. Specify "myDiode" as the model name

    Best regards

Add as one of the model files in ADE-L (Setup->Model files).
