Out of memory error of Hiearchy Editor in ic5141

All,

I'm seeing Hiearchy Editor window hangs with popping "java:out of memory" error when recalculating extracted view of large design.

After studying user manual, I found there is some work around (env in shell before icfb invoke) as follow:

 setenv CDS_HED_MAX_HEAP size

However, I don't know what's the syntax of "size". Should it be "1024", "1024m", "1024M", "1024000" or something else. I've tried but it looks it still not working.

 Anyone knows the solution?

Thanks,

QS

It would be set to 1024m (or 1024M). You can also set it to a larger value, e.g. 3072M (note that setting it too large won't help, because hierEditor is a 32 bit executable in IC5141).

    Regards,

    Andrew.
