Opening layout view opens schematic view

egolowen

Hi,

I am trying to open a layout using the following command:
cv_layout = dbOpenCellViewByType("<lib name>" "<cell name>" "layout" "maskLayout" "a")

however once the layout is opened, the schematic view of the cell is also opened. Is there a way to prevent this?

Thanks,
Elizabeth

    It definitely should not and does it not in my case.
    Is the dbOpenCellViewByType command all you are executing?
    You can check your open cell views with dbGetOpenCellViews().
    Or just to get the views affected dbGetOpenCellViews()~>view~>name.

    This behavior could possibly come from environment settings which define Virtuoso XL or Virtuoso GXL as your layout editor. Then the schematic which is defined as connectivity reference will open too.

    Werner,

    This will not happen if you call dbOpenCellViewByType. It would happen if you use deOpen to open it graphically, but application-specific settings like this will not happen at the db layer.

    The only way I can think of which would cause this is if you've got some kind of "dd" trigger registered which is doing the opening of the schematic. It seems highly unlikely to me though.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
