xi0.m1: Effective length is less than or equal to zero?? newbie in cadence!

I m in inverter tutorial and getting error = xi0.m1: Effective length is less than or equal to zero. I changed the L & W to a certain range but it did not help. Moreover for an another project i need to vary L & W to a certain range and see its graph simultaneously ... Can i do this? I know i can vary dc ac voltage and all that in analysys section but how can i do this in case of physical parameters such as Length and Width? Can i vary the performance by changing any other parameter? Thanks fr suggestion

Not sure what you mean by inverter tutorial. Please post your netlist.

As far as varying W and L and plotting, one way to do it is to make them design variables and run parametric analysis.

    Dear Eric ,
    Many thanks for response.
I was keenly interested in parametric analysis in order to check the parasitics in deep submicron range and hence thought to use Cadence as a tool and started learning it. I started to implement things like OP-AMPs and invertors. Errors are resolved now.
Do send me if you have anything useful for me .
    Thanks in anticipation
    Sincerely,
    Kulwinder

how did you resolved the error . I am also trying to design a inverter using 90nm technology in cadence virtuoso but getting the same error ," Effective length is less than or equal to zero" . thank  you for suggestions

I'm not sure it makes a great deal of sense asking somebody about a question they asked 15 years ago (the forum guidelines ask you not to do this, but either way it's pretty unlikely you'll get an answer). Better to ask a fresh question with sufficient details on exactly what you did, which tool versions and PDK you used, and perhaps the netlist, and then somebody might be able to help.
