How to resolve the Yank & Paste problem .

 Dear All ,

In IC 6.1.5 ISR15 , I found a problem and didn't know how to figure out.

I launch virtuoso or virtuoso -nocdsinit , it is the same result.

It's about Yank & Paste from shape and label operation ,

Draw 2 shapes - Layer ME1/dg  , Label 2 text on the shape

(1)If the lpp of the label is TEXT/dg , no matter whether attached yes or not , it can yank & paste ,

(2)If the lpp of the label is ME1/dg or other lpp , if the 2 label attached yes  , it can not yank & paste or only yank 1 label

(3)If the lpp of the label is ME1/dg or other lpp , if the 2 label attached no  , it can yank & paste ,

Thank you,

Charley

    Charley,

I looked at the video you sent me - and the difference is that when I was yanking I was completely enclosing the metal shape, and hence the attached label goes with it. I actually found that if I only drew the yank rectangle over part of the metal shape, it never took the attached label with it (whereas it did for you in some cases). I can see why this might happen, because the yanked shape is not the same as the original shape - but it ought to be possible to make this work. It will need the tool enhancing to attach the label to the newly generated shape if it was attached to the source shape from which the yank shape was generated (in the yank buffer) - but this will need a change in the code - and so you should report this to customer support.

    Kind Regards,

    Andrew.
