dashed / solid lines with note shapes

Lawrence,

This might need to be a new thread but I am wondering why when adding a note shape in a schematic view and selecting the line style to be dashed it still shows solid. If I then go to the display.drf file and change the line style  to dashed for layer "text" which is what the object created uses, then the object is always represented as dashed even when selecting the object and changing its line style to solid. Is there another setting in the display.drf file that should fix this?

Thank you.

Regards

Cachi

    Cachi,

I separated this from the original thread as it was really a different topic.

"solid" note shapes are drawn using the text/drawing layer purpose pair, and "dashed" note shapes are drawn using the text/drawing1 layer purpose pair. Whichever packet is associated with these two different layer purpose pairs (note the "1" on the end of the purpose for dashed shapes) controls whether it is in fact solid or dashed. The tool just assumes that the packet results in it being solid or dashed respectively.

    Kind Regards,

    Andrew.
