Design Variable and Global Variable.

When I create a Design Variable, it automatically get copied into Global variable. Whenever I change my design variable value, it doesn’t get updated in the global variable. I am using Virtuoso Analog design environment Version 8c6.1.5-64b.500.15.

This happens in Virtuoso Analog Design environment XL.

Hello Wgtkan,
the idea behind a global variable is to control several tests with it, which are using that same variable. If the tool would do update the global variable from one test like you are expecting, it might mess up the setup for all other test. After the creation of the global variable it stays separated from the local value.

Marc is of course correct - I just also wanted to mention that over the design variable (in the data view assistant in ADE XL), you can do Right Mouse->Create/Update Global to update the global variable to match the local (test) variable value. That way you can choose if you want to update the global value.

When I do RMB (right mouse button), over at the Design Variable in the Data view assistant in ADE XL, update option wont show up.

Are you sure? Did you do it over the test's variable or over the global variable?
