Removing P&R boundary

Using Virtuoso XL (IC6.1.5-64b.500.8), a P&R boundary is automatically drawn when I generate all from source. I can re-adjust this boundary by going to Create->P&R Objects->P&R Boundary to draw a new boundary. However, I'll be designing this layout by hand so I do not need it. How can I remove this boundary?

I cannot select it and delete it (it does not seem to be selectable, and I don't think I have a corresponding layer in the tech file.. i.e. if I set all layers to non-visible, I still see the boundary). I can only re-draw it using the aforementioned steps.

I don't believe a prBoundary is required in OA. Many designs would not have this. It does tend to be required by placement or routing tools because they need to know where the placement and routing must be bounded within.

In OpenAccess it's not a shape on a layer - and so setting the validity of an LPP doesn't make any sense. Instead you can either use the Objects assistant (related to the Layer Palette), find the "Boundaries" section, and turn on the selectabilty of P&R Boundary.

Or on VLS XL, you can do Right Mouse->Make PR Boundary Selectable over the layout canvas somewhere.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
