How to create a Shallow Trench Isolation (STI)? - GR268b1 error

 Season's Greetings everyone!

I am learning Cadence and I am creating very simple designs only to familiarize myself with the library and the tool. I am using Spectre 6 and the design kit is cmrf8sf, 130nm from IBM.

While trying to instantiate an opndres_inh resistor in layout and run DRC, I get error GR268b1. I read the explanations on pages 117 and 119 in the manual, but I don't understand how to instantiate the STI. Attempts to create n-well, isolation ring resulted in more errors.

Can someone explain step by step how can I create STI around the resistor? Or what steps need to be taken to fix this error?

Thank you,

Gabriel

    Hi Gabriel

As this question is related to the usage of a pdk, I think it would be better for you to contact IBM foundry support for this issue. They should be able to provide a sample layout.

You might also want to check the other devices in the pdk library to see if any of them contains any STI layout.

    Best regards
    Quek
