ASSURA 4.1 Supported Platform?

According to supported platform matrix, ASSURA 4.1 only "woks" with RHEL 3, RHEL 4, and RHEL 5 for x86_64.

Does that mean it will not "work" at all for RHEL 6.x or only support is not avaliable? Is there a way around to make it work under RHEL 6?

Another question, RHEL 5 native kernel is 2.6.18 and if after installing cadence supported products the kernel is updated, will the products still work?

Actually, if you look on downloads.cadence.com, the latest hotfixes and updates for ASSURA41-615 and ASSURA41-616 are supported on RHEL6. It's only ASSURA41-5141 that is not supported on RHEL6 (but then again, IC5141 is not supported on RHEL6).

In practice, it works though (I've been running RHEL6 on my work laptop, where I run the software most of the time, for over 2 years now). The "support" means that it is tested on that platform and that we will fix things when they break on that platform (because we have the test infrastructure). Lack of support doesn't necessarily mean that it won't work, just that we don't commit to make it work.

But in this case, it is supported. The platform support matrix document doesn't specify RHEL6 because it is dependent upon which flavour of ASSURA41 you're using - i.e. which IC version you are running it with.

    Kind Regards,

    Andrew.
