Schematic Editor: Make cell EDITABLE automatically

Hi,

I am using virtuoso 6.1.5

I have a schematic editor open with a cell in readOnly mode.

Is it possible to configure cadence so that the cell automatically switches into EDIT mode whenever the user tries to change something on the schematic? Eg, I do not want to go to "File -- Make Editable" before making a change. I realise I could use a bind key, but I would prefer if it just happened automatically.

Thanks,

Niall Duncan

    Niall,

No, you can't do that. In fact many of the menus are greyed out so you can't access the editing commands (except on bindkeys) unless you are in edit mode.

Most customers prefer it this way to prevent accidental edits on signed-off cells. I guess it could be an option, but it isn't at the moment.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
