Copying cadence library and changing cell names and references

Hi,

I want to copy my present working library to a new one and while doing the same i want to change the cell names (only prefix eg A_GIO TO B_GIO) .While doing the same i also want to make sure that the library reference will be updated to the new one and the heirarchy is maintained.

Can some one give me an input on how to do this quickly.

Regards

Vipin

    Hi Vipin,

    There is an existing SKILL-based solution for copying a design hierarchically which you could alter to account for the prefix change that you require, take a look at Solution Article 11111222. This was intended to copy a design hierarchy, not a whole library, but you could use this as a base to start from.  If the name is as you show then the new name could be as simple as something like the following:

    strcat("B" substring("A_GIO" 2)) ;; use a variable for the name "A_GIO"
    => "B_GIO"

    In the solution code you would change the line that reads

    CCSgetMappedName(cellName)
    to
    strcat("B" substring(cellName 2))

    Hopefully this will help you.

    regards,

    Lawrence.
