ADE taking long time to get the licenses

Dear All,

We put new licenses in a machine sitting in the local network.

We are able to ping to it.

ping 10.32.40.41
PING 10.32.40.41 (10.32.40.41) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 10.32.40.41: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.593 ms

64 bytes from 10.32.40.41: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.593 ms
64 bytes from 10.32.40.41: icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=0.524 ms
64 bytes from 10.32.40.41: icmp_seq=4 ttl=64 time=0.627 ms

We did necessary changes in the .cshrc file in the working directory as below:-

 setenv CDS_LIC_FILE 5280@10.32.40.41

But while starting ADE for the 1st time it is taking a long time to get the license.

After ADE gets the license, it also takes long time start the simulation ( as if icfb  gooes into hang mood).

Could anybody please tell how tofix this

Kind Regards,

    Hi RFstuff

Would you please provide the following info?

    a. Version of Virtuoso
    terminal>virtuoso -W

    b. Is Virtuoso able to start up quickly or do you also observe the same problem during Virtuoso startup?

    c. Are there any warnings/errors in the license server log file?

    Best regards
    Quek

Also, do you have $LM_LICENSE_FILE set too? Potentially to license servers that don't exist or are nothing to Cadence license servers? If so, you could use:

    setenv CDS_LIC_ONLY 1

which will tell it to ignore $LM_LICENSE_FILE and only use $CDS_LIC_FILE.

You could also try running the performance test. This is available via the command-line "perf_test" command or in IC616 it's available in the CIW under Options->License (the PerfTest tab).

    Regards,

    Andrew.
