Hi, I got some problem when trying to creating a library on Cadence 5.1.41

Though I set the permission for user to write the file "cds.lib" but still unable to create a new library.

I also tried to create a folder for the library and add a cellview but it is still unable to work.

Is the any way to fix this problem? Please give me some adivces about this. I really appreciate.

Thank you.

     Hi,

please check for a  "cds.lib.cdslck"  file in that directory. It seems the cds.lib file is in use by another process, maybe the Library Path Editor is open somewhere unnoticed?

If the lockfile is there, you can check it's contens and see who is holding the file.

If the lockfile exists and you are realy realy realy sure that no other process is currently locking the file, you could delete the cds.lib.cdslck file, which will release the lock.

Sometimes you get such locks when you copy library directories, while the files inside are open for edit, so you copy the lockfiles as well. It's called "stranded lock".

    Regards,

    Marc
