Error while trying to save wave data into table format from Results Browser in Cadence

Hi All,

I am having an error while trying to save waveform data from Results Browser Window in Cadence. From Results Browser window I am able to plot the waveform, but when I am trying to open the data in table format with specific start/end time and step size, initially the window is getting somewhat into not-responding type of state, and after quite a few moments the waveform window is getting closed even, with the following error message printed in the terminal window

"*** glibc detected *** /mnt/cadence/IC614ISR_lnx86/tools/jre/bin/java: munmap_chunk(): invalid pointer: 0x008d37c5 ***"

Please suggest what might be the issue and how else can I export the required data.

N.B: I have previously printed waveform data into table format and then to csv files and all in the past numerous times, but never have come across such a problem.

Regards,

Indrajit

    Hi,

Based on the java message and the installation path, it appears that you are using a fairly old version of Virtuoso (the last 614 ISR was about 3 years ago).  Would it be possible to try a newer version?

As you may be aware, in 615 the waveform tool was completely re-implemented.  It has many new features including the ability to export to a CSV file directly from the Results Browser rather than requiring you to generate a table first and then exporting.  The updated version also resolved a number of problems with performance and capacity in table generation which existed in the older version.

Sorry I don't have a specific answer/cause of the condition you are seeing of suggestion to work around it in 614.

    Regards,

    TOM

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for the reply. I understand that may be the version I am using is a bit older, but thats something I can't help at the moment. I am a student at a university and naturally have very little hold over which version to be purchased or used. But, anyways thanks for reply.

May be if someone else could give some work-around that can help me to extract the required data from this version itself. May be some option that is required to be changed or some other better way available for getting this done.

Expecting that someone else can help me out...

    Regards,

    Indrajit,

Maybe running in 64-bit mode would help? Try:

    setenv CDS_AUTO_64BIT ALL
    virtuoso &

or (if using ksh or bash):

    export CDS_AUTO_64BIT=ALL
    virtuoso &

    Regards,

    Andrew.
