Error setting noise parameter in vsource

I am getting an error when trying to set the noise parameter of a vsource.  It works for me when I use noise type = "noise voltage".  However, when I try and use SSB Phase Noise, I get the following error:

Error found by spectre during initial setup.

ERROR (CMI-2193): V1: A value is negative in the noise vector.

 I am using 2 noise/freq pairs.  Freq1 = 1M, Noise 1 = -110, Freq 2=100M, Noise 2 = -140.

Obviously, it doesn't like the negative value.  However, a SSB specification has to be negative.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Geoff

    Hi Geoff,

My guess is that the problem is not with the noisevec, but with the freq or freq2 parameters. In order to use this feature you must:

    1. Set the source type to "sine"
    2. Ensure that there is a frequency set for the sine source (either the first sine or second sine source)
    3. Be using MMSIM13.1 (since that's when it was introduced)

The frequency is needed so that it knows what the phase noise is relative to (since it is in dBc).

    Regards,

    Andrew.
