Monte Carlo Simulation Failure

Hello,

I have been attempting to run monte carlo simulation using ADE-XL but spectre keeps throwing me errors. Please see below:

 Monte Carlo

The error states "unknown paramter 'sigma' found . . . " . Examining the MC scs file the sigma parameter is present but not defined anywhere.

Common sense would suggest the sigma pertains to the standard deviation of the process being simulated. I am only using 3 different components (a MOS model, resistors model and capacitor model) and all 3 sections are included in the model libraries setup.

I have tried to search for the errors online but answers vary wildly from the tools not being setup correctly to including other sections in the model libraries setup. Can anyone help?

Kind Regards,

Jordan

Just to follow this up with maybe a bit more information.

Im running IC6.1.5, MMSIM7.1 and the design library is UMC65nm Low Leakage. In the spectre MC model files, the process parameters contain the lines std=sigma/3. However, sigma the variable/parameter is not listed anywhere else in the entire directory.

Could it be possible that the files have somehow been altered? Should the parameter 'sigma' be defined in the same file? Does anyone else have the UMC65nm low leakage design kit and can state whether 'sigma' is defined in the monte carlo library?
