Virtuoso XL editing capability is not enabled

Hi,

I am using IC5.1.41 and face the issue of  not being able to edit or create layouts.

There are no space or lockfile issues. Also the license for both XL layout editor and Layout editor shows available in the license list, checked from the CIW window. But i am unable to check it out.

I have tried creating a new library and then used both the design synthesis tool to generate the layout from schematic and also created the layout view directly. In both the cases i get the message mentioned below (respectively)

*WARNING* Virtuoso XL editing capability is not enabled

Layout enable trigger failed. Aborting the open. Check licensing.

Has anybody faced similar issues?

    Hi ag2888

Would you please confirm if you are able to create a new layout using VLE? As I do not quite understand your comment on the design synthesis tool, I am trying to check if the licensing problem is only for VXL or the entire Virtuoso.

Would you also please check if the time of the workstation is the same as the time of the license server? It would be good if you can post the revelant log messages from the license server.

    Best regards
    Quek
