RLGC matrix size does not match between instance and model 'mtline'

Hi Andrew & all,

I meet an issue.

I created a mtline block with (1)Type of Input: RLGC (2)Entering RLGC atrics. I get the matrix values from hspice simulation result ( because I kind of no license of 'lmg' ) and it works fine.

The problem is when I copy and paste this mtline so that I have two mtline in series, running the same simulation shows that "I0.I1: RLGC matrix size does not match between instance and model 'mtline'", in which I0:I1 is the 2nd mtline.

It sounds to me that the 1st mtline works but the tool thinks there is something wrong of the 2nd mtline.

Why? they are the same !!

I am using Virtuoso 6.1.3. Running the simutaltion using Virtuoso ADE.

Please help!!  I need to solve this issue SOON !!

First of all, lmg has been obsolete for many years. Instead, you enter the physical parameters on the instance of the mtline and the solver runs inside the simulator. The benefit of this is that  you can then sweep the physical parameters (e.g. track width) inside the simulator and you don't have to supply new RLGC matrices for each scenario.

The problem you describe rings a bell, but I think it was fixed many years ago. Which version of spectre are you using? This should show up at the top of the spectre log file in ADE - perhaps you can cut and paste that here?

BTW - if  you have urgent issues, going to customer support is the best bet. I'd not even seen this post because something appears to have broken in the last few days and I'm not getting email notifications from the forums (I have our IT looking into it).

    Kind Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for your response.

I have asked my company's IT the server ID to register to customer support, but they are busy and noy yet reply me.

BTW,  the spectre version is 7.2.0.174

    Please help.
