Tutorial for absolut beginners on schematic and ADE.

Hello!

Where can I find a kind of tutorial for absolut novice on Cadence 6.15 Virtuoso Schematic and ADE (e.g. step-by-step  description how to draw simple schematic and simulate it)?

Does Cadence provide such kind of documentation?

Thank you in advance

     Dear Runner,

As an absolute beginner, you might consider the following document at URL:

    http://support.cadence.com/wps/myportal/cos/!ut/p/a0/DcexDoIwEADQb3FwpRVJbWwYSDBx8AOUpWnvDmjAo7YNiX-vb3tiEE8xsNvD5ErY2K3_v5AoroGXd-ArbmByghaL-bQAASxSDhNb4pK-R9n1N_uw-6mSVcTRZHIJ5rvLcwtKe9Qa0ROMjfK1lu6iqSEFtfdwFnHpDj-VRJcu/

I realize it is not 6.1.5, but it should get you started. I was uable to attach it as it is too large to upload. There are some additional links in its reference section. I hope this helps.

    Shawn

A more readable version of this link is http://support.cadence.com/wps/mypoc/cos?uri=deeplinkmin:DocumentViewer;src=dt;q=ccic_design_entry/ADE_L_v1.0.pdf. You can also take a look at the Rapid Adoption Kits at http://support.cadence.com/wps/mypoc/cos?uri=deeplinkmin:DocumentViewer;src=wp;q=ProductInformation/Custom_IC_Design/ApplicationPackages/CIC_RAK_Home.htm. For example, "Virtuoso Visualization & Analysis (ViVA)" explains the waveform viewer.

    Dear Krimo,

I will not attempt to speak for Frank, but the documentation you are referring to is from a Forum response 5 years ago. ADE-L is no longer actively supported by Cadence and has been replaced with Maestro. I have no idea what version of Cadence you are using, but I would suggest you do a Sourcelink search for the documentation you are interested. Cadence also supports numerous videos that are quite helpful in getting started with analyses and schematic entry. All of the links for these may be found with search in Sourcelink. For example, a link to the Rapid Adoption Kit for schematic entry is:

Basics of schematic design entry, net naming, probing, navigation, exploration : Virtuoso Schematic Editor

A video providing an introduction with spectre is at URL:

Spectre Simulator Fundamentals S1: Spectre Basics (Video)

I hope this, in addition to your own searches, provide some useful information to you.

    Shawn

Adding to Shawn's remarks, I would suggest that you select either "Rapid Adoption Kits" (https://support.cadence.com/apex/Coveo_CommunitySearch#t=RapidAdoptionKits&language=en) or "Training Bytes (Videos)" (https://support.cadence.com/apex/Coveo_CommunitySearch#t=TrainingBytes&language=en) from the "Self Learning" menu in Cadence Online Support (which has not been called SourceLink for a long time, by the way, that's a bit like saying Analog Artist instead of ADE...) and type "ADE" in the search box on these pages (not the top search box).
