Monte Carlo simulation takes 3x longer than corner sim

 I have a circuit in tsmc 28nm, the design is in cmos logics, the regulator corner simulation takes 13 hrs each, however the Monte Carlo sweep runs much longer, each run takes 3x longer.

The following is the mc portion of the netlist():

 mc1 montecarlo numruns=25 seed=12345 variations=all sampling=standard \
    donominal=no scalarfile="../monteCarlo/mcdata" \
    paramfile="../monteCarlo/mcparam" saveprocessparams=yes \
    processparamfile="../monteCarlo/processParam" \
    processscalarfile="../monteCarlo/processData" savemismatchparams=no \
    savefamilyplots=yes savedatainseparatedir=yes wfseparation=yes {

dcop dc ........

tran tran stop=70n .........

export noExprs=oceanEval("0")
}

did anyone  have the same experience? What caused this?

thanks

    Kevin,

    Not really, because I don't have enough information to work with. I don't know what simulator version you're using, I don't have any visibility of the size of the design or the performance and so on. That's why I suggested customer support as that way we can give you more focussed advice in a timely fashion rather than broad generalities.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
