After I imported GDSII into Virtuoso and open Layout L, I saw the layout is obcured by a bunch of huge pins' name floating in the background. How do I let those pins name not display?

Thanks

     Hi,

you need to find out what layer the text labels are on first.

What I normally do is to open the Dynamic Selection assistant and then move your mouse over the labels.

You will then see the layer under your cursor displayed in the assistant.

Then, simply go to the layer palette and turn that it off.

In addition to Colin's advice, you could go to the Objects part of the palette and turn off the visibility of labels. That will turn them all off without needing to know what layer they're on.

Note these are probably not "pins", but just pieces of text which were too big in the stream file for some reason. There is an option on the Geometry tab of the StreamIn Options form (hit Show Options first, then move to the Geometry tab), called "Scale Text Height" which allows you to shrink (or enlarge) text on stream in.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Would you elaborate on where can i find Dynamic Selection Assistant? In Layout L, I have Options-Dynamic Display, and a window pops up, then I have Setup-VLS-Objects, and on the right I a check box table called Contents, I've unchecked the Lable checkbox and save click Apply, but the big pin's name is still showing? Am I getting your solution right? I'm using Layout Editor 6.1.4-64b.485

    Thank you!

Re-import with the label size shrinking down to 0.05 of the original kind of solve my proble, labels like "out[31]" is significantly smaller and more readable. (pci down below) But if could look closely, under the "out [31]", there's still some names in whitestacked together, and I can't figure out what it says or how to disable it. These white names came out with when I pressed the "Shift+S" in order to show the internal of my layout. Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?

    Many thanks!

The dynamic selection assistant is at Window-Assistants-Dynamic Selection. Maybe that will help you locate these labels?
