ViVA setting to remember waveform setup

What is the procedure to set the ViVA so that everytime after simulation is done, the previous waveform display format, such as signal order, signal groups,... is the same as before?

By default it uses the default, that is all signals are crowded togrther. I have to re-group it...

It is kind of annoying to do this after each simulation if there are many signals to watch.

In ADE I selected all the items in "What to Save" section in saving state form. I see there is Waverform Setup, but it seems not what I want.

can anybody help?

Thanks

     Dear apple419,

I'm not sure if this is acceptable to you, but I usually save the waveform setup in a file (File->Save Window) after re-arranging the waveforms to a manner most meaningful to you. When a new simulation completes, if you re-load the waveform file (File->Load Window), it will display the updated results. If you load the waveform setup you saved, it will load the new simulation results in a new tab.

Although Cadence does not recommend it from my conversations with them, you may also edit the waveform setup file directly to point to the new results directory if it has a different name.

    I hope this helps!

     Dear apple419,

In re-reading my response, I think I need to clarify one statement. If you re-load the waveform tab being displayed (Control-r), it will update the existing tab with your new simulation results. Alternately, if you would like to visually compare the two sets of results, you may open a new tab with the new simulation results in your saved format by invoking File->Load Window and selecting the file setup you saved.

Sorry for any confusion my response caused!

    Shawn,

Thank you. I will try it later.
