Cadence error : failed to get the current working directory

Hi,

When I am working on Cadence I have a warning which says:   failed to get the current working directory
WARNING* Failed to get the current working Directory.

*WARNING* Failed to get the current working Directory.
*WARNING* Failed to get the current working Directory.
*WARNING* Failed to get the current working Directory.
*WARNING* Failed to get the current working Directory.
*Error* simplifyFilename: Bad filename - "./.cadence/dfII/workspaces/Layout"
*WARNING* Failed to get the current working Directory.
*Error* File Open: illegal filename - "./.cadence/dfII/history/mt2775.history"

After this error if I save anything in the open windows, the Cadence would crash.

This problem happens again and again.

Would you please let me know what is the problem and how to solve it?

We know that is because of file system problem but we don't know why only Cadence has this problem.

I have the crash report and CDS.log file. If it's necessary, I can send it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, it sounds like you should file a Case with Cadence Customer Support for this issue. You might try removing or renaming the .cadence directory in the current directory to see if that helps - if not, file a Case... Best regards, Lawrence.

    Hi Lawrence,

Thanks for your help. I already opened a case in CMC.

I opened the Cadence again and I did the same scenario and this time the error is:

*WARNING* Failed to get the current working Directory.

*Error* File Open: illegal filename - "./m"

when I tried to run load("m"). I am sure "m" is existed in the directory and the problem is because of file system problem.

Would you please let me know if you have a suggestion on this problem? Do you know any command which help me to find the source of problem?

    Thank you
