Display a custom message while hovering the mouse over a particaluar instance in schematic

Hi,

I am trying to display a customized info message for a particular instance while hovering the mouse over an instance in a schematic window.
I tried using schRegPopUpMenu but this applies only if I right click on any instance in the schematic. Is there any function in skill where I can hover the mouse and display a custom menu ?

Thanks,

Veena

    Hi Veena

I think there are 2 possible solutions to the problem:

    a. Use the built-in info-balloon function which can be enabled in "Options->Dynamic Display". You can customize the contents of the info-balloon using odc* SKILL functions which are described in $CDSHOME/doc/sklayoutref/sklayoutref.pdf.

    b. Use the object info display skillscript in COS article 11519912.

    Best regards

    Hi Quek,

Thanks for responding. I am interested in displaying info for a instance in a schematic window only. The odc* functions are only supported with VXL.

However the objectinfo skillscript is useful and I can customize this based on my need. But how I make this info to be display dynamically (or for a few seconds) while hovering the mouse without asking the user to press any key or select the instance ?

    Thanks,

    Veena
