Model file update in saved Artist states

Hi All,

I have a query wrt to the model file update for the previously saved analog artist states in IC5.1.41..

At present i see that even if i update my PDK to point to the newer version through .cdsinit , but on loading a saved state (for an older PDK version) the model files as seen from the ADE window point to the older version only.. In that case i would need to manually change the model files manually for all the saved states. The new ADE window that is launched from the schematic points to the correct updated model file though.

Is there a possibility of having ADE to use the updated model file version even for the previously saved analog states? Else its a hassle to keep a track of the PDK changes and keep editing the earlier states.

    Hi,

in the load-state-form there is a section called "what to load". Uncheck the boxes "model setup" and "simulation files". Then you should have the new default values. (Evt. you must restart your cadence-session. It is possible that once you have loaded an old state, the new defaults are overwritten. I'm not sure about this).

If you use this .cdsenv entry:

    asimenv.loadstate modelSetup  boolean nil

    or in SKILL (.cdsinit):

    envSetVal("asimenv.loadstate" "modelSetup" 'boolean nil)

Then the "model setup" checkbox will be off by default on the load state form, and then any PDK default you may have will then be honoured.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Is there a way to make the simulation files checkbox off by default in the load state form(just as model setup) ?

I tried adding a statement like envSetVal("asimenv.loadstate" "simulationFiles" 'boolean nil) but i get the following warning -

\w *WARNING* envSetVal: Can't set the value of variable 'SimulationFiles',

\w in tool[.partition] 'asimenv' - it has not been registered.

    \t nil

There is no option to control simulationFiles - only modelSetup. There is an enhancement CCR, 945950, asking for more general control over the "what to load" settings on the load state form, but it's not been committed yet.

If you want this, I suggest you contact customer support so that a duplicate request can be filed on your behalf.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
