ADE GXL-Global Optimization

Hi,

I am using Cadence 6.1.5. I am trying to run Global Optimization in ADE GXL. The design is an op-amp, analysis is ac. In variables and parameters window, I set input transistors M0, M1 to be matched. Parameter w has range from 12u to 60u in 10 steps. In global optimization setting, I set reference point as starting point, which is 19.95u.

After running global optimization, run log | log file viewer shows 17.33u is the optimal. But in results window, nominal shows "netl err". Error is

ERROR (ADEXL-5012): While netlisting run GlobalOpt.6, point 10, test macroModel:27:1, received error:
Netlist Error:
------------------------------
Failed to create netlist.

For details open log: /home/fjiao/logs_fjiao/Job5.log for the point: (3 10)

I don't know why I am getting this eorr. I am new to use ADE XL/GXL tools, any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,

I did more experiments these days, and I found out it's not the problem with Global Optimization. I run tests on single run sweeps and corners, Monte Carlo Sampling, local optimization, sensitivity analysis, I got the same error.

The error message in Job.log is

    Begin Incremental Netlisting Nov 25 19:11:51 2014

\e *Error* hiGetWindowName: argument #1 should be a window type (type template = "w") - nil

\o ERROR (ADE-6029): Netlisting failed because of errors in callback 'CheckMicronSizeCB("w")' associated with param 'w'

\o         of the lib 'macroModel' cell '27' view 'schematic' inst 'M1'.

\o         To complete netlisting, ensure that all the errors are corrected.

Now since it happened to all the tools in ADE XL/GXL, I am thinking that if it's because my NCSU design kit is not compatible with the version of Cadence. Does anybody have any advice? Thank you very much!
