No Waveform Data When Using psf Command

Hi,

I'm trying to use the psf command to convert the tran.tran file to ascii format.  I'm pretty sure the tran.tran file is in psfxl format. The syntax I'm using is...

psf -i tran.tran -o tran.dat

However, the tran.dat file that is created doesn't contain any waveform data.  The header info is there, but in the trace section of the file, I only see a single data point at time t = 0

Am I missing something or not calling the function properly?

    Hi Trent,

I have used the psf command many times successfully - but it has been a while! YOur syntax appears correct, but I am concerned that it may not work with psfxl formatted data. My understanding is that psfxl does not store each simulation data point, but rather will only store a value when it has changed from its prior value.  Have you tried to force the data to be saved in psf format and then using the psf command?

I am sure Andrew or others will know if psf can successfully access data in psfxl format. If that fails, using ViVA or an ocean script can generate ASCII data from a psfxl data set.
