Monte-Carlo simulation Cadence IC6

Hi,

I am trying to do a monte carlo simulation. I know how to to the Monte-Carlo using ADE-XL using CMOS technology. But we are working with FinFET models that process variations are not included and we need to do it manually. We have never done this before. So, the way we want to test it is as follows:

we define a simple circuit shown in the attachment and we define a Vvar that is the name of the component we are going to see the variations. We define the .scs file as:

// statistics block for my
// design variables

statistics {

mismatch {
vary Vvar dist=gauss std=0.037
}

}

Just to see if we can see the mismatch effect or not. Unfortunately the MC run stops at 0 and doesn't progress.

Could you please help us?

Thanks

    It sounds as if you've misunderstood how Monte Carlo is supposed to work. The statistics block describes how a particular parameter is going to vary, not how a particular block is going to vary. You've specified the block name.

    You might do well to study Recommended Spectre Monte Carlo modeling methodology

    Regards,

    Andrew.
