Sweep vth values

Hello,

I would like to observe an output of ring oscillator (frequency) if let says I sweep with different values of vth for every instance in my circuit.

How can I do that? I got no idea until now.

I am using IC614

Thanks

Syafiq

Hi Syafiq, I am having the similar issue. Did you figure out how to sweep Vth? Thanks!

"Sweeping" each transistor separately is not something that would be very easy. You'd be better off trying to do a monte carlo analysis - maybe your models are already set up to support monte carlo?

Hi Andrew, I tried Monte Carlo to see changes in any parameter with the change in Vth. However, the range of Vth is predefined because the Vth sweeps from approx. 411mV to 433mV which is already set by the tool. But I want to do more customized sweep. For example, I want to sweep from 200mV to 400mV. Is that possible? If so, can you please let us know how can we do that? Thanks!

Yes, this is possible, but you'll need to modify your models - I have no idea how they are set up or what statistical variables have been added to the models or what they control.

Look for a block in the model labelled "statistics" (see "spectre -h montecarlo" for details of the kind of structure you'd expect to see), and then see what parameters are being varied. Then look to see how these parameters are being used in the model definitions themselves and see what model parameters are being altered as a result.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
