Cadence IC installation help

Dears,

I am installing Cadence 2014-2015 eda into RHEL 6.6 x64 bit , it extracted all the packages inside /eda however running dfm_icfb gives error

[saad@RHEL6 bin]$ ./dfm_icfb

./dfm_icfb[169]: exec: icfb: not found

I need help regarding this problem and I need the environment variables for normal users.

Also note that all the Cadence 2014-2015 eda installation was done with root user.

Also note that I ran the checkSysConf IC6.1.6 and all seems to Pass.

Thank you!

What is "Cadence 2014-2015 eda"? Presumably this is some kind of software release, maybe in an Academic environment? It's certainly not a Cadence release...

Similarly dfm_icfb is not a Cadence tool. It sounds as if it is some wrapper that is trying to invoke "icfb" (which was what the main IC release executable was called in IC5141 days; that executable is now called "virtuoso" in current releases (IC61X releases, such as IC616), and so this wrapper presumably needs updating.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

We got it from Europractice website and it is called cadence and yes you are right regarding virtuso! We used to have the previous release 2010 IC Cadence and we used to run it on RHEL 5 using icfb for students. If it got replaced by virtuso I think I am on the right track because virtuoso is working fine.

And yes it is in the Academic environment, I thought this is where we get its support right?

Europractice provide support themselves - they have a team who do this, and they then contact Cadence for anything they can't handle themselves (and they can handle many things).

These forums are not a support channel - they are a set of community forums where responses come from the Cadence user community. A few of us on the forums (like me) work for Cadence, but this should not be seen as an alternative to customer support. For Europractice customers you cannot come directly to Cadence customer support, but you can go to the Europractice site:

There's a "Support" link at the top of the page on that link.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Thank you Andrew, it relief me to know that icfb has been replaced with virtuoso in newer releases because I didn;t know what is the main software to launch.
