Different layer vias are combined when placed on the top of eachother

Hi,

I am using Layour XL of IC6.1.5. I encountered a problem that when i place a via e.g. from Metal 1 to Metal 2 on the top of poly to Metal 1 via, It combines both vias. Is it possible that I can keep both vias seperate as it gets very annoying if you want to select one layer vias it automatically select the other one.

Thanks

You can solve this using the Options Toolbar - using the via stack icon (highlighted in red below):

(Couldn't get the image to upload, so it's the third icon from the left on the Options Toolbar, which looks like three rectangles on top of each other with an orange vertical arrow through them)

Or you can go to Options->Selection and turn off the "Via Stack" checkbox.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
