Hi everyone,

I had installed Cadence IC base 6.15.011 and I can run. After that, I installed Hotfix 6.15.171 and I got problem. The terminal show that:

# dlopen failed to open 'libdb.so'

How can I figure out this error? Please help me. Thank in advanced.

And one more question: Do I really need Hotfix version? Thanks.

This shared library comes from the "db4-devel" RPM:

    UNIX> rpm -q -f /usr/lib/libdb.so
    db4-devel-4.7.25-18.el6_4.i686
    UNIX> rpm -q -f /usr/lib64/libdb.so
    db4-devel-4.7.25-18.el6_4.x86_64

Your required version numbers may vary (I'm using RHEL6.5).

I would strongly advise using the hotfix version - a lot of things have been fixed and enhanced since the base release, and IC615 introduced a new waveform tool (at least the graph part) and so there were definitely quite a few improvements since the initial release (which was nearly 4 years ago now). Even the last hotfix was over 18 months ago, so you should also consider moving to IC616.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Thank Andrew,

I decide to install the Base version first. But I still have problem when I run Cadence. the CIW is opened but it is immediately halt. After that Cadence showed me a report:

    And this is crash report:

I also try to install in a normal PC and summary the result:

"Cadence works" has status "No" means CIW appears and stop.

So, I think this problem can be caused by hardware of server. In fact, I don't have much Cadence experience. Please give me some clue. Thank you so much.

    Thank your reading.

The problem is the hardware of my new server and I fixed it.
