How to turn OFF DRC Check during layouting

Hi,

I am using Layout XL of IC 6.1.5. I want to turn off the DRC check during my layouting as it gets annoying. By DRC Check, I mean that it automatically checks the minimum spacing and limit the movement of components and nets.

This sounds as if it may be auto-abutment since it is devices you are talking about. The devices in the PDK probably have auto-abutment set up so that if there is connectivity between the pins, it will attempt to abut them and share source/drain regions etc. If there is no connectivity, it will push them apart. The precise behaviour is controlled by the PDK - so maybe there is a bug in the definition of the abut function for these devices?

You can turn off auto abutment - this is under Options->Layout XL, in the Generation tab. Perhaps you could experiment with that and see if this is the reason?

If it is not behaving correctly with auto-abutment, you probably need to contact the PDK provider.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

What on earth has this to do with this 6-year old thread on DRD?
