constrain the memory use in cadence

Hello,

How can I constrain the memory use in cadence spectre ?

Our system limits the use of maximum  memory and I need to set it to avoid the simulations from stopping when I run large circuits,

Thank you,

Threw me a bit, because this seems to bear little relation to your original question. Anyway, if it is your system limiting the memory usage, it's that you'd need to alter, not spectre.

Maybe you need to be running 64 bit spectre? This can be turned on from the Setup->Environment form in ADE (if there's a "Run with 64 bit binary" checkbox, turn that on, if not add "-64" in the userCmdLineOption on the Setup->Environment form.

If you're running 32 bit spectre (the default), then you are constrained to a max of around 3.7Gbytes.

It's not really clear what you're asking here, so I'm doing a bit of guesswork.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

I found that adding "setenv CDS_AUTO_64BIT ALL" to the Cadence source/setup script, sets 64bit settings by default. Mentioning in case it's helpful to anyone in reference to above.
