performance & processor time

I'm working to track down some performance differences on two workstations running the same project and software load.  My drc runs way faster on one but not the other.  The two machines are the same hardware, os, and cadence tools (version below).

What I've noticed in the assura outputs stats are the proc wait time statistic.  One one machine these values are much higher than on the other machine.  I'm hopeful someone can help me understand what might contribute to a higher "wait time" value.  Here is an example of the wait times on each machine (6 core machine) for the same project.

Machine 1 - normal performance

time proc0: wait time [71.73% of time] 0:07:24
time proc1: wait time [26.94% of time] 0:07:24
time proc2: wait time [23.54% of time] 0:06:28
time proc3: wait time [27.00% of time] 0:07:25
time proc4: wait time [26.70% of time] 0:07:20
time proc5: wait time [50.08% of time] 0:05:10
time proc6: wait time [11.79% of time] 0:01:13

Machine 2 - impaired performance

time proc0: wait time [18.37% of time] 0:08:22
time proc1: wait time [66.47% of time] 0:09:15
time proc2: wait time [60.80% of time] 0:09:37
time proc3: wait time [68.50% of time] 0:09:32
time proc4: wait time [69.30% of time] 0:09:38
time proc5: wait time [16.07% of time] 0:07:19
time proc6: wait time [0.11% of time] 0:00:03

I can provide more if needed but any pointer on what might contribute to higher wait times would be helpful.  Do keep in mind that the hardware is the same and the project is the same.  The runs complete fine on both machines in any case, just way faster on the one.

Jim, probably best to talk to customer support about this.

    Kind Regards,

    Andrew.
