How to do Monte Carlo on Layout (extracted results) in cadence version 6

Hi all,

I know how to do Monte Carlo on schematic view in Cadence version 6, but I don't know where to change and what to change to get the results for the extracted view. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Nabavi

    Hi Nabavi

I think your question is as follows:

How do I perform a monte carlo simulation for an extracted view?

You can do it as follows:

    a. In library manager, create a "config" view for your test-bench. This means that your test-bench should have "schematic" and "config" views

    b. In the hierarchy editor, choose the extracted view as the view to use

    c. Open up the schematic from the hierarchy editor and launch ADE-XL to do monte carlo simulation. ADE-XL will now use the configuration in the "config" view. This means that it will do netlisting using the extracted view.
