ADE XL always pending

I can do simulations in ADE L, but if I try to do it in ADE XL, after I click the run button, the status will always be running and never stop, actually it won't simulate at all, and in adexl results tab, there's a pending under Nominal. And after sometime I get an error (screenshot of the error is attached)  Can you please look at the error and tell me what may be the possible reason for getting this error.

  • Dear Haniel,

    From the error you are displaying, it appears your job is never starting. Have you examined the settings under the Job setup policy to verify the machine you are specifying to run the job and the job submittal command are valid?

    You may want to compare the machine and setup with those used in your ADE-L simulation.

    Possible issue are due to

    (1) Cadence spectre licensing issue(Maybe you have limitations for the number of license to be used

    (2) More users are utilizing the spectre license when you launch your simulation (countermeasure is to increase the "Linger Time" (e.g.3000)

    This cannot be a spectre licensing issue. The simulation would either be in "running" status (if it was waiting for a license) or would fail. The ICRP (which is a virtuoso session) would not be stuck in pending.

    Similarly Linger Time is irrelevant here. That is a control to keep the iCRP running after simulation has been finished so that it can be reused for a subsequent simulation without the overhead of having to launch a new ICRP. If the ICRP never starts, getting it to linger for longer is irrelevant.

    I would suggest you contact customer support so that we can debug this with you. There are numerous possible reasons for the setup causing such a problem.
