Voltages on nets connected to pins are note saved

Hello,

I'm using ic (both 6.1.5 and 6.1.6).

I save all signals to output, but voltages on nets connected to pins are not saved. Why?

Thank you

Best regards

Aldo

    Hi Aldo,

Do you mean pins within a subcircuit or top level pins? If it's nets connected to pins with subcircuit, then they are saved - but using the net in the parent cellView (or the net in the grandparent cellView, etc) - i.e. they are saved as the highest level name in the design. This is to avoid saving the same signal multiple times. There is some support in the result database nowadays for aliasing of nets so that the signal can be saved once and just all the alias names written - but in general this is handled in ADE by ADE doing the mapping where needed.

If the above paragraph doesn't explain it, you probably need to give some details - or contact us via customer support.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Thank you Andrew.

Yes I mean pins of a subcircuit.

Where have I to search info on nets mapping? Or could you please give me some instructions about it?

    Thank you very much

    Aldo,

If you plot from ADE you shouldn't need to do this, I think? The format of the mapping is private - so I need to understand precisely what you're trying to do to understand why you need to do that...

    Thanks,

    Andrew.

I have a lot of differential signals to check and a long hierarchy too. Positive and negative are sometimes connected to pin, and so it could be more convenient to have all signals referred to the same subcircuit block. A workaround could be adding a short after each signal pin in subcircuits.

    Thank you

    Aldo
