cdsServIpc - ERROR (cmms-1889): Unknown switch '-c'

Dear All,

I have a problem running the virtuoso (IC 6.1.6) on RHEL7 (64bit).

When I start it I've got this error message in the console (tcsh):

> ERROR (cmms-1889): Unknown switch '-c'

> Syntax: /eda/cadence/2014-15/RHELx86/IC_6.1.6.080/tools/bin/cdsServIpc

Error massages In the CDS.log:

\e Display localhost:10.0 Error "BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter)"
\e request 62 error 9 serial 1149

\o Waiting for ipc:1 to initialize
\o cdsServIpc: ipcWait connection timeout (local host)
\e *Error* printf: argument #1 should be a string (type template = "tg") - nil
\p >
\o cdsServIpc: connection timeout (local host)

I found a similar issue when I try to run the libManager from the shell and select the Help/Contents:

ERROR (cmms-1889): Unknown switch '-server'

Syntax: /eda/cadence/2014-15/RHELx86/IC_6.1.6.080/tools.lnx86/bin/cdnshelp

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this issue?

Thanks for any advice!

First of all, RHEL7 is not supported by IC616 (RHEL7 is due to be supported by Cadence releases released during 2015). However, the behaviour does sound a little odd. cmms is the "Cadence Manufacturing Modeling Suite" and it's not obvious why the steps you are running would be trying to invoke that with -c or -server.

    Please contact customer support.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
