[Layout QUESTION] Join Transistors shared drains

Hello,

I would like to join, on the layout, the drain of two transistors that share the same drain. Here are the two transistors:

Can we join the drains this way?:

I mean, moving one of the transistors in order to allign the contacts of the drain of both transistors, as shown above.

Is the method used correct or should I create, for example, an unique substract for both (how can I do it?) of them?

Thank you very much in advance!

If you are using Virtuoso Layout Suite XL, you should be able to just abut the two transistors. Most PDKs support auto-abutment, and based on the connectivity between the two devices (VLS XL is a connectivity-based layout tool, using the connectivity from the schematic), it will share the source/drain regions.

    Did you try that?

    Regards,

    Andrew.
