**error** the memory request exceeds the current available space in hspice

Hi to all,

Sorry for asking Synopsys related query in cadence forum.

I have a circuit with full adders and half adders altogether of 80 in number,

When simulating a small circuit, no problem was there, while am simulating

the circuit with more transistors, it showing an error related to memory and aborting from process..

The same error message i put here for your reference.

************************************************************************************
**error** the memory request exceeds the current available space.
          # memory which has been allocated =   894105 kbytes
          # memory in next memory request which fails =   156945 kbytes
 Please continue by
Step 1: Inspect input file for possible errors in .TRAN
statement or any sources with repeating functions.
Step 2: If other users or jobs are running, wait until
they free up more memory space.
Step 3: If you are running Windows, you may free some
additional memory by exiting Windows. You need to
add more RAM to run such a large job.

          ***** job aborted

************************************************************************************

I have upgraded my RAM from 8 GB to 16 GB, still it showing this problem,

Please help me out to overcome this error.

Thanks

SRINI

Why did you do this? I wouldn't ask about Android issues on an Apple iPhone forum, so why ask about a Synopsys tool on a Cadence forum?

Anyway, perhaps you just need to run "hspice -64 ..." (that's the command line switch for hspice which enables the 64-bit version; without this it runs by default in 32-bit mode which will be limited to less than 4Gbytes because of only having 32-bit addresses). At least that's what I expect, as I only have limited access to hspice.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
